"The China-Europe International Symposium on Software Engineering Education (CEISEE)" is an international educational conference jointly initiated by Harbin Institute of Technology and Technological University Dublin in 2005. It is an international educational research activity that originated from the EU project EMERSION, which is jointly undertaken by Dublin Institute of Technology and Harbin Institute of Technology. EMERSION aims to establish, implement, and evaluate a software education model for the industry in China to meet the needs of the Chinese software industry.
The CEISEE conference is held alternately in China and Europe every year. The host cities include Harbin, Dublin, Guangzhou, Bordeaux in France, Xi'an, Northampton in the United Kingdom, Shanghai, Milan in Italy, Chengdu, Zwikau in Germany, Shenyang, Athens in Greece, Shenzhen, Lisbon in Portugal, and Beijing. The conference has been gaining increasing international influence. Each CEISEE conference has received extensive attention and participation from scholars and experts from China and Europe. So far, the conference has been held for 18 sessions, with more than 1,500 scholars from 24 countries participating. The aim of the CEISEE conference is to explore the new challenges, approaches, and technologies in the development of software engineering discipline and software engineering education in the new era. It provides a platform for educational scholars, industry experts, and relevant government officials to exchange views and share experiences, contributing to the construction of first-class software engineering discipline.
The CEISEE conference is supported and sponsored by the Software Engineering Education Guidance Committee of the Ministry of Education of China, the National Exemplary Software College Alliance, the China Software Industry Association, the China University MOOC Computer Education Alliance, and the "Computer Education" magazine.
